About Kellie Brown
After my bachelor’s degree I worked for a non-profit focusing on child welfare services. While there I saw the terrible things that addiction could do to families, how the opiate pill mills were ripping families apart, and it lit a fire in my heart to become a counselor. I started going to school for my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health. After I graduated I started working at an acute stabilization unit, doing emergency screenings for people thinking of suicide or who had a substance use crisis. I also started to see the effects of the opioid crisis more clearly, started to see the desperate pleas for help from my clients, and their families who could only sit and watch while addiction killed their loved ones. I jumped at the chance when I was offered a job at a local medication assisted treatment program that helped people with opiate use disorders. There I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, was trained in EMDR, and also became a Certified Addiction Professional. Now I am proud to be offering online therapy in Florida, so that I can help even more people.
