Heather Vann, M.Ed./Ed.S., LMFT
About Heather Vann
The majority of my clinical practice includes children, adolescents, and young adults and their families. I work with many students from the Gainesville area including those attending UF and Santa Fe College. Due to the highly relational nature of my practice, I often see individuals, families, and couples. My clinical case load includes a diverse population of North Florida residents starting at age 8.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, supportive, and goal-oriented. I consider myself a generalist in practice, but I draw on various approaches such as narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, systems theory, structural family therapy, and brief solution-focused therapy when appropriate.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to effective treatment and work hard to co-create a healthy trusting environment with clients and their families while they are doing the hard work of therapy.
