About Grace Porter

Our lives are shaped by the beliefs we hold: beliefs about ourselves, about the world, about our relationships. But what if your beliefs are not in service to your well-being? I practice a unique style of psychotherapy called "Depth Psychology." I work with the premise that often the most powerful and enduring change comes from a deeper understanding of our core beliefs and how they fuel our symptoms (such as anxiety, chronic pain, or depression). What better place to increase your understanding of yourself than in therapy? Together we can uncover underlying meaning behind your suffering and create new patterns that support a compassionate, safe, and genuine existence. Therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist with room for your intuition and mine. Together we work to break you free from constricting old patterns and belief structures and into more creative and fulfilling lives. I specialize in working with caregivers of all kinds who find themselves worn down and needing a new balance and a path forward that allows space for their needs too. I practice in both English and Spanish. I welcome adolescents and adults of all ages on a variety of issues including relationship problems, stress, anxiety, life transitions, depression, phobias, and abuse, including domestic violence. As a Certified Facilitator of the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra, I use Yoga Nidra Meditation to enhance my clients' healing process and personal growth. Currently my practice is exclusively online with clients from Maryland and Washington State.
