Jorie Himmel, PsyD
About Jorie Himmel
I practice a relational form of psychodynamic therapy that views the therapeutic relationship as the site of potential transformation. The relationship between therapist and patient is the most important factor in successful therapy. One size does not fit all, and I’ve had great success working with people who have had negative or lackluster experiences in previous therapies and those who are ambivalent about beginning therapy.
My initial goals are to establish trust and create a non-judgmental space in which my patients can feel truly seen and heard. I am trained to understand my clients within the many contexts which inform their lived experiences — social, economic, racial, generational, and cultural.
We will work together to identify the problems and symptoms showing up in your life, and the behaviors or patterns that might not be serving you in the way they once did. Whether your struggle is deeply rooted or a temporary challenge, whether you are in crisis or looking to deepen your self-awareness, therapy can be the journey that heals and illuminates.
