About Shannon Hiser

Ms. Shannon Hiser became fully licensed in 2009, after 8 years of experience in Community Mental Health facilities. During her licensure experience, she worked extensively with diverse individuals ranging in diagnoses from Schizophrenia and Co-Occurring illnesses to General Anxiety and Dysthymia, and families with problems ranging from minor emotional incongruence to severe parental alienation. She enjoys working with all ages and types of problems or life changes, and specializes in Integrative Team Treatment approach to treatment problems related to attachment and relationship, Gestalt Play Therapy techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), using these modalities and other creative techniques for managing trauma, anxiety, and dysregulation. Ms. Hiser believes in the process of developmental growth and change, as well as its ever-evolving form or path, with each step being revealed as we are personally ready to continue on our journey. Processing our thoughts, memories, experiences, and emotions within the reflective, compassionate, and safe environment of the therapy room, allows for us to identify barriers and stuck points that we carry from our past, unpacking the baggage that prevents us from the joy of the present moment, and overcoming our fear of what the future holds. She is thankful for each and every journey she gets to be part of, no matter how long or short, regardless of the outcome, and she prays that as you come together in session, you may experience just what you need to practice acceptance of the authentic nature of your being, acquire the tools to manage your circumstances in a way that honors you, and connect you to those who support and encourage your ongoing growth and development. Ms. Hiser is a believer in Jesus Christ, and while she does not do Certified Christian-based counseling, she prays for her patients each day, and that the Perfect Father will be honored in her daily steps. You, as the director of your own planning and goals, will decide if this is also meant to be part of your journey, and you are invited to share about your own beliefs, struggles, and challenges, without judgment, as you find the guide to your healing and wellness.
