About Stephanie Jones
Hello, my name is Stephanie. I have 18 years of clinical social work experience in practice settings such as: residential treatment, community mental health, outpatient therapy, and managed care. I grew up in the busy city of Charlotte, North Carolina and developed counseling and mediation skills as a result of being the oldest of three girls. I knew after high school that I wanted to be in a highly energetic and diverse work environment that fostered personal growth, community collaboration, and focused primarily on helping others. I became a counselor because I wanted the opportunity to have a positive and powerful impact on people’s lives. I believe that in therapy individuals can hone in on social and emotional skill development, as well as achieve their personal goals with a little bit of hurdle help.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I also have a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My specialties are in interpersonal practice with children, youth, and families. I take an eclectic psycho-therapeutic approach to play therapy, mindfulness, meditation, self-esteem enhancement, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
