About Marija Grubor

Hey there. I am Marija, a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist-in-training with a current residence in Europe and an objective to move to Canada in the following two years, where I hope to take my psychology and psychotherapy practice to the next level. Allow me to introduce myself and let me take you through my colorful experiences, and we might just click! MY JOB I currently work as a psychologist at the National Institute for Transfusion Medicine, where I mainly work on motivational blood donation campaigns for the general public, but also provide psychological support when needed. At the same time, I provide counseling for oncology patients both in and out of a clinical setting. EDUCATION I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, earned in 2014. Since then, I have finished a three-year education in gestalt-oriented sociotherapy practice and have completed a two-year clinical psychologist internship. Since 2019, I am studying psychodrama in an EU-certified school of psychotherapy, and will begin my master's studies in the area of clinical psychology in September, 2020. STYLE OF WORK My personal style of practice is an integrative & innovative mash-up: depending on the sensibility of the client, I use bits of standardized gestalt techniques, creative and cathartic psychodrama-inspired interventions, a thread of psychoanalytic themes (using mainly concepts from transactional analysis and Jungian theory), and an infusion of art therapy wherever and whenever possible. Perhaps most importantly, I am a superb active listener with high capacity for efficiently mirroring the client's content. In the meanwhile, I am working tirelessly on educating the general public about clinical disorders, as well as the importance of mental hygiene, social support systems and continuous self-evolution. I regularly publish articles and often conduct theoretical and experiential workshops about art therapy, burnout and anxiety coping mechanisms, handling addictions and mental health prevention. And when it comes to healing, I believe in the potency of structured self-exploration, expressive creativity and healthy self-acceptance. My versatile experiences and my endless open-mindedness make me an ideal match for most types of clients. I am here because I am more than ready to share my deep and multifaceted knowledge and so-far-gained expertise with the world and its needs, and grow as much as possible as a professional and as a human in the process. Need a helping hand and like what you just read? Message me at any time and let us grow together!
