About Jaynee Golden

I recognize that the decision to begin or return to therapy can be rather challenging. For many of us, processing pain and trauma is often avoided until a crisis arises, feelings become unbearable, or life seems unmanageable. I also believe that you do not need to have an a active crisis in your life in order to engage in therapy; we can ALL benefit from talking to an objective person who is a professional, who can help us to better understand ourselves, why we do the things we do, and ultimately, to help us to evolve and grow to become the best versions of ourselves.

Therapy requires courage, strength, and trust in yourself & in your therapist. As such, regardless of where you are in your process, I will meet you there. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount, symptoms are adaptations, and while change can be difficult, it is more than possible.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults (generally with people ages 12-40) struggling with mood &/or anxiety disorders, substance abuse/use disorders, trauma related symptoms, family conflict/divorce, school/work-related challenges, issues related to self-esteem, & life-transitions. I'm also passionate about working w/people who are affected by a loved one's addiction and/or mental health condition.I understand that in a 'family system', one system can impact all individuals involved. Likewise, while the 'identified client' may need help, all members in the family system also need a place where they can feel heard, supported, and ultimately, heal.

I would describe my approach at warm, non-judgmental, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe that being a therapist is an honor and a privilege. If you think I would be a good fit for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
