About Becky Hanke
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I offer individual, couples, and family therapy to support the treatment of behavioral and relational issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma. To accomplish meaningful change, I take a collaborative approach with the intention to discover strengths and instill hope.
After receiving a Masters degree from the St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, I found myself drawn to working with children and their families. While in the Twin Cities, I was able to complete my internship with some of today’s leaders in Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy. I have completed extensive trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Level 1 Brainspotting.
CBT is an approach that helps clients formulate how events create our emotions, our thoughts, our behaviors, reactions and responses to the world around us. I help clients understand this process, and connect values and beliefs that are developed over our lifetime. This allows for greater awareness of stressors that we are faced with, take initiative to create behavioral changes, and challenge thoughts and actions that no longer serve a propose.
Brainspotting is derived from the founders of EMDR trauma therapy. It is believed that depending on where we bring our gaze, we process trauma and stressors differently. Brainspotting is an orientation for allowing clients to engage trauma and process the trauma from a wholistic approach, targeting physiological, emotional, and mental symptoms.
