About Kimberly Krueger
Kimberly B. Krueger, MSW, LCSW, aka “The Happiness Activator,” is the CEO and Founder of Southlake Counseling for Self-Discovery, a disordered eating treatment program. It is her goal to empower people worldwide to take action and live their lives filled with passion, excitement, and fulfillment.
Kimberly is a life and business coach, gifted therapist, and an overall Happy Life activist. She is also the creator and developer of many highly-successful programs including the Say Yes to Life Total Transformation System; the Emotional Breakthrough Method; the Confidence Breakthrough Method; the Overcoming Overeating Bootcamp; and The Parenting Game Plan: a complete system to help your teenager beat their eating disorder. Kimberly has delivered more than 50,000 individual counseling sessions and has helped thousands of people internationally through her life-changing programs.
Kimberly’s passion for her work first arose from her own eight-year battle with anorexia and bulimia, depression, and anxiety. Her recovery was continually fueled by the determination to triumph over her eating disorder and to use her experiences to help others. Post-recovery, Kimberly assembled a skilled and compassionate team of professionals who bore not only impressive credentials but also their own personal recovery experiences. Together they formed Southlake Center to support individuals struggling with their mental health.
Today, Kimberly and her team help others to recognize that recovery, help, hope, and support are both affordable and accessible. Kimberly’s team members have been handpicked, are trained in her methods, and are available to help you live your best life.
Kimberly received her bachelor’s degree in 1989 from North Carolina State University. She then received her master of social work degree with a specialization in mental health from East Carolina University. Kimberly is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Social Work, is an intensively-trained and certified dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) specialist, a Maudsley eating disorder trained family-based therapist, a certified Imago therapist, a certified Internal Family Systems therapist, and a Level II certified Equine-assisted psychotherapist. She is a Level II trained EMDR specialist and an expert in traumatic stress. She is a certified life coach, a self-esteem coach, and a “Book Yourself Solid” business coach.
Kimberly has trained with leading experts in her field and many of her certifications have been received from the program founders themselves. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the International Academy of Eating Disorder Professionals, the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, the National Eating Disorder Association, the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association.
Above all, Kimberly believes your whole life can change with just one decision. No matter how far down you are or how successful you may be, your future can always be taken to a new level.
